Join our two‑session clay work party—no experience needed. Create your tile on May 3 (10–12) and return to glaze it on May 31 (1–3). A lively, hands‑on way to contribute your artistry to a permanent community mural. Step into a lively, collaborative studio experience designed just for MSoP members! This two‑session clay workshop invites you to help create the custom tiles that will become part of our MSoP/Perkins Community Mosaic Mural — a permanent artwork shaped by many hands and voices. Under the guidance of Laura Lyn Stern, an acclaimed mosaic artist and educator with deep experience in community‑based mural projects (including several for the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program), participants will design and hand‑build their own clay tiles in harmony with the mural’s overarching theme. Laura will walk everyone through the creative parameters, demonstrate techniques, and offer one‑on‑one support to help your ideas take form. The first session focuses on shaping and carving your tile; the second brings everyone back together to glaze, refine, and celebrate the emerging collection. Participants must attend both sessions. No advanced clay experience is needed — just curiosity, camaraderie, and a willingness to get your hands a little messy. This is a fun, social, members‑only opportunity to contribute your artistry to a shared community vision. All materials and tools will be provided; full details will be included in your confirmation email after registration.
