MSOP 15th Birthday Party and Make & Take Event

Join us at Mount Airy Art Garage (MAAG) to celebrate MSoP's 15th birthday party with hands-on Mosaic Potpourri Playdate filled with creativity, community, and fun. Think of it as a mosaic buffet, a chance to sample techniques, experiment with materials, and follow your curiosity. Each meeting attendee will create a summer flower or abstract design on a 5-inch ceramic fan tile. We’ll kick things off with a brief group tutorial, then move into four interactive, member-led arty stations.  Shag Technique with Smalti (Carol Tinkleman)  Tinted Thinset Exploration (Carol Stirton-Broad)  Beads & Bezels Station (Robyn Miller)  Clear Stained Glass Play (TBD) MSOP will provide the substrate, adhesive and practice materials/tesserae. Participants should bring their favorite tools, (wheeled nippers, tweezers, apron, and optional glass cutter and running pliers. Feel free to bring a little extra smalti (if you have it). Additional meeting events also include mini-mosaic exchange (theme "Picasso"), show and tell table, volunteer acknowledgement and Volunteer of the Year Award. And, of course, there will be birthday cake, beverages and snacks! Potluck donations are always welcome.
